The Redbirds on Friday rallied for four runs in the fifth and final inning to a 4-4 draw against Double-A Springfield. Gary Daley started the game, pitching two perfect innings including a strikeout in only 19 pitches. Kevin Thomas followed and struggled significantly in two innings, giving up three runs with five hits and two walks.

Batavia @ Williamsport Postponed, Doubleheader Scheduled For Monday

The opening game of a three game set vs. the Batavia Muckdogs was postponed due to rain Sunday night (6-28-09) at Bowman Field.
The game will be made as part of a doubleheader tomorrow (6-29-09) starting at 6:05. Each game will be a 7-inning affair.

Quad Cities River Bandits Activate Jon Edwards, Matt Frevert Promoted From Ext S.P.; Jason Buursma Up To Palm Beach; Jairo Martinez Sent Down
Quad-Cities made several roster moves Thursday. Outfielder Jon Edwards (.220) was activated from the disabled list and right-handed pitcher Matt Frevert joined the team from extended spring training. Frevert was 4-0 with a 2.70 ERA last season with Johnson City and Quad-Cities. The pair replaces pitcher Jason Buursma (0-0, 0.77 ERA), promoted to high-A Palm Beach, and outfielder Jairo Martinez (.174), reassigned to short-season Batavia.
