2009 Palm Beach Cardinals Pitching Stats

Hooray. We’re moving along to more meaningful stats. Well, sort of. As I mentioned before, Roger Dean is a hitter’s graveyard. Therefore, it makes pitchers look a little better than they actually are. Moving from Palm Beach to Springfield can be one of the toughest transitions for any pitcher; it separates the men from the boys.

Four RBI is the stat of the day as Matt Pagnozzi, Brian Barden and Osvaldo Morales each did it on Thursday. On the pitching side, George Brown fanned five in four scoreless and Pedro Pena whiffed ten in 8 1/3. The system went 6-2.

David Kopp: Coming Back Soon

There was recent speculation that Springfield Cardinals right-handed starting pitcher David Kopp might be out for the season. That is not the case. The 23-year-old has experienced another bout with an inflamed bursa, but should be ready to go soon.
