With an undefeated mindset, the Cardinals overcame a four-run first-inning deficit and battled their way to a tight 8-7 victory over Elizabethton in an Appalachian League game Tuesday night at Cardinal Park.

Romulo Ruiz connects for four hits including a double and scores four runs in the LVBP for Player of the Day honors. Tyler Greene collects two hits and scores one run, Kevin Moscatel picks up one hit and Renyel Pinto earns his fifth save all in the LVBP. Francisco Samuel strikes out two over a scoreless inning in the Dominican.

Amaury Cazana ranks in the top ten in the LMP in hits, doubles, triples, RBIs and total bases but leads the league in strikeouts. Former Cardinal Brian Barton lands with the Reds and former MiLB 2B Edgar Gonzalez is garnering interest. Rich Rundles is placed on inactive list in LVBP.
