Dream Bracket Semifinals Set: Yankees-Red Sox, Reds-Dodgers

Joe Presko Passed Away On February 5, 2019
Former Cardinals and Tigers pitcher Joe Presko passed away on February 5 at age 90. Nicknamed “Baby Joe,” Presko had a fairly nondescript career, going 25-37 with a 4.61 ERA over parts of six seasons.

Being a baseball fan sometimes feel like just rooting for laundry, as Jerry Seinfeld once derisively put it. The routine heartbreak of watching your favorite players leave your favorite team and wear alien uniforms is an agonizing rite of passage. Seeking a durable, dependable left-handed reliever, the Cardinals signed Rob Murphy in January 1993. Murphy delivered, establishing a Cardinals single-season record for left-handers by appearing in 73 games in 1993.
