Lisa Phillipson had a great time with her friends at Spring Training this year. Though more than 40 years have passed, the crack of the bat and the smells of the ballpark bring her back to her childhood and the love of baseball that her grandpa instilled in her—the greatest gift he could have left her with.

Longtime and now mostly retired St. Louis sportscaster Jay Randolph is recovering from full hip replacement surgery he had about a month ago and, after a stint in a rehabilitation facility following the procedure, has returned home.

Joe Garagiola Was Robert Hyland's First Big Discovery
Joe Garagiola, who died Wednesday at 90, had one of the most diverse and successful careers in the history of broadcasting. That’s not bad for a guy from the Hill who grew up dreaming of becoming a baseball star but achieved his fame with his mouth, not his bat, after a nine-year big-league career that began with the Cardinals in 1946 and included stops with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs and New York Giants.
