Over 48,000 St. Louis Cardinals fans were on hand to show their appreciation for Albert Pujols, who was making his first return as a player since 2011. As expected, they were on their feet for his first at-bat with an ovation that lasted close to a minute and half.

Marcell Ozuna started in left field and batted fourth.  3-for-4 with one home run, three RBIs, two runs, and one stolen base.
Jose Martinez started in right field and batted fifth.  2-for-3 with one RBI and one walk.
Kolten Wong started at second base and batted seventh.  1-for-4 with one two-out RBI.
Michael Wacha started and pitched six innings.  He allowed five hits, one earned run, one walk, and struck four out for the winning decision (5-3).  1-for-2 with one strikeout.  (p-s:95-55)(g/f:6-4)
Andrew Miller entered in the seventh and pitched one inning.  He allowed no hits or runs, and struck two out for the hold (9).  (p-s:10-8)(g/f:1-0)
Carlos Martinez entered in the eighth and pitched 1.2 innings.  He allowed one hit, no runs, one walk, and struck two out.  (p-s:30-18)(g/f:2-0)

Rough Outing:
Paul Goldschmidt started at first base and batted third.  0-for-3 with one walk, two strikeouts, and assisted in two double plays.
Harrison Bader started in centerfield and batted eighth.  0-for-3 with one walk.
