With His Dramatic Catches & Emerging Bat, Harrison Bader Bidding To Become Cardinals' Centerfielder Of The Future

Jim Edmonds gave the St. Louis Cardinals the best seven years of his career. From 2000 through 2006, Edmonds won six Gold Glove Awards for his big-play defense in center field, was selected to four National League All-Star teams, slugged .572, averaged 33 homers and 95 RBIs, and mixed walks and power to amass a .971 OPS. Edmonds’ marvelous talent flowed through six postseasons, and the Cardinals wouldn’t have won two NL pennants and the 2006 World Series without his style and flair.

The Cardinals Should Consider Andrew Miller

The 2016 Cardinals lost yet another game last night due to their bullpen being unable to protect a lead. This has become an unfortunate theme 84 games into the season. Sure, the offense squandered some chances to score more than five runs, but five runs should be enough to win the game. More important than the game outcome, though, the Cardinals potentially lost Matt Carpenter for an extended period of time, and should this be the case, there is no way a trade for the pitcher named in the title of this post will occur.

Brendan Ryan Eager To Continue Delivering With Bat

Hits have been few and RBIs even more rare in April for Brendan Ryan, so the Mariners shortstop reacted with a big fist pump after his sharp single to right field drove in a run in the sixth inning in Monday's 6-2 win over the Orioles.

On Jackie Robinson Day, when all players on all teams wear No. 42 to honor the great Brooklyn Dodgers African-American star who brought not only a change to the game but a change in the culture of the game, the Cardinals had no African-American players.
