Historical Trade Rumors: How Expos Missed Out On Albert Pujols
When the 1994 MLB season was suspended in August because of a labor dispute, the Montreal Expos had an MLB-best 74-40 record. Considering that the team employed Pedro Martinez, Ken Hill, Jeff Fassero, Larry Walker, Moises Alou, Cliff Floyd and Marquis Grissom, that shouldn't be especially surprising. The 1994 season, of course, never resumed and Felipe Alou's squad never got a chance to win the first World Series title in franchise history.

Cardinals Name Stephen Piscotty 2015 MiLB Player Of The Year, Alex Reyes & Austin Gomber 2015 Co-MiLB Pitchers Of The Year
The St. Louis Cardinals today announced the recipients of the organization's 2015 Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Year awards, and for the first time since the award's inception in 1995, there are co-recipients of the top honor for pitchers, with right-hander Alex Reyes and lefty Austin Gomber both being selected. Outfielder Stephen Piscotty, who became a key contributor for the Cardinals as they delivered a third-straight N.L. Central Division title and the ninth 100-win season in franchise history, was named the organization's top player for 2015.

The Cardinals on Monday named outfielder Stephen Piscotty their Minor League Player of the Year while selecting both right-hander Alex Reyes and lefty Austin Gomber as their Minor League Pitchers of the Year.

The misstep that could slow Alex Reyes' arrival in the majors was not enough to keep the Cardinals from honoring how successful he's been as he sped through the minors.

Stealing A Run
Arguably the most exciting play in baseball, the straight steal of home is rarely seen these days. It happens so infrequently that Jacoby Ellsbury successful attempt against Andy Pettitte became major news— although the Yankees / Red Sox rivalry probably has a little something to do with that. Not to be outdone, Jayson Werth accomplished the feat a little more than two weeks later, to somewhat less fanfare.
