He’s tried holding the baseball deeper in his hand. He’s tried closing his index finger and thumb to make a circle near the commissioner’s signature, or running his finger against the seam. He’s thrown the pitch to lefthanded hitters and righthanded hitters, ahead in the count and behind, and still Miles Mikolas feels he doesn’t have a grip on a good changeup.

Donovan Solano (former Memphis-Colombia) started at shortstop and batted leadoff.  2-for-3 with one RBI,one throwing error, and one fielding error.
Oscar Mercado (Palm Beach-Colombia) entered late in the game as a pinch hitter and batted third.  0-for-1 at the plate.

Minnesota beat Colombia 10-7

Allen Craig (former St. Louis-Boston) started as designated hitter and batted eighth.  0-for-3 with one ground into double play.

Carlos Beltran (former St. Louis-Puerto Rico) started as designated hitter and batted fourth.  0-for-2 at the plate.
Yadier Molina (St. Louis-Puerto Rico) started at catcher and batted fifth.  1-for-2 with one home run, one RBI, one run, and one strikeout.
