Shelby Miller, Matt Carpenter Earn Top Minors Awards

A pair of 2009 Draftees earned the Cardinals' Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Year Awards, announced by the club on Friday.
The top prospect in the St. Louis Cardinals minor-league system was also honored as the top performer at his position in the organization.

The Cardinals farm system went 5-2 as Kevin Howard, P.J. Walters, Fernando Salas, Daryl Jones, Domnit Bolivar, Arquimedes Nieto, Matt Adams, Edgar Lara, C.J. Beatty, Eric Fornataro, Audry Perez, Phil Cerreto, Romulo Ruiz, Kleininger Teran, Cesar Valera, Cole Brand, Manuel De La Cruz, and Roberto Canache starred on Sunday.

Two Will Represent Cardinals In Futures Game

Cardinals prospects Shelby Miller and Eduardo Sanchez will give fans a glimpse of their potential during the 2010 All-Star weekend, with both being tabbed Tuesday for the Futures Game on July 11 in Anaheim.

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Shelby Miller, widely regarded as the top prospect in the organization’s minor-league system, will represent the club on Team USA in the annual Futures Game. Miller, a starter in Low-A, and Class AA reliever Eduardo Sanchez have been selected for the game’s World Team.

MLB Makes Tickets To 2010 All-Star FanFest, Other Activities Available Feb. 23

Fans will be able to purchase tickets for the 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star FanFest and Taco Bell All-Star Sunday, featuring the XM All-Star Futures Game and the Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game, beginning February 23. Hall of Famer and Angels legend Rod Carew will serve as spokesperson for 2010 MLB All-Star FanFest.
