Josh Wirsu Named Appalachian State Pitcher Of The Week For Period June 22-28, 2015

(1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 0 HBP, 0 BB, 3 K)
The 2014 30th-round pick posted a 6.23 ERA in five appearances with Johnson City last year, so his five scoreless innings against Burlington last week put him on a more promising trajectory for 2015. Wirsu picked up the win in a 10-0 shellacking, getting nine of his 15 outs on the ground. The Georgia Southern product was making his second appearance of the year, having made one relief outing in the Cardinals system with Class A Peoria earlier in June.
