Matt Holliday, Ryan Howard, Mark Reynolds, & Brandon Moss All Possibilities For The Indians

Matt Holliday has been mentioned after leaving the St. Louis Cardinals. He's 37. He has battled injuries the last two seasons, playing only 73 games in 2015 and 110 games in 2016. He did hit 20 HR with 62 RBI (.246, .783 OPS) in those 110 games last season. He had a fractured thumb. In 2015, it was different leg injuries. He is a one-year contract guy, and probably a DH as his outfield play has deteriorated.

Joe Kelly Thrilled By Power In Shoulder

The flirtation with a no-hitter was Joe Kelly's second favorite thing about his return to the mound on Saturday. What made this a truly special day for Kelly was the sustained power he felt in his right arm throughout a 9-1 victory over the Indians.

Kyle Lohse An Experienced Started Still Available On Market; Justin Masterson Is Five Weeks Into Eight-Week Rehab Program

Kyle Lohse, RHP, free agent — Lohse, a Scott Boras client, remains one of the experienced starting pitchers on the market. Lohse had a horrible 2015 campaign for the Brewers, so you can understand why teams have stayed away. But as injuries crop up with the Dodgers (especially Anderson) and other teams, you wonder if Lohse has become a fallback plan.

Marlon Byrd, OF, free agent — Byrd, 38, isn’t getting much love on the market, but as teams begin to figure out their final roster spots, don’t be surprised to see someone take a chance on him. The Cardinals Outfield: Next Generation

Last winter, the Cardinals paid a steep price to acquire one season of Jason Heyward. The club is poised to let Heyward walk via free agency. My colleagues at MLBTR predict a 10-year, $200 million contract. Luckily for St. Louis, there’s very little pressure to bring Heyward back. That’s because Stephen Piscotty and Randal Grichuk had successful seasons.

Detroit, which needs to remake it bullpen, and will be especially targeting a closer and set-up man, could take a look at Reds close extraordinaire Aroldis Chapman, who could be on the market again after Cincinnati decided to hold onto him at the deadline. Detroit, which is also expected to seek multiple starting pitchers, has been heard to be linked to free agents Scott Kazmir, Samardzija and Ian Kennedy. Samardizija's brother Sam, incidentally, works at a Detroit firm.
