Jacob Ellsbury Is The Forgotten Yankee

There is an alternate universe in which the Yankees won the World Series, and amidst all the rejoicing realize they have a dilemma. Does Jacoby Ellsbury get a ring? To answer that question, one must define what it means to be a Yankee, or even a baseball player at all.

Yankees To Monitor Troy Tulowitzki

Troy Tulowitzki, SS, free agent — Nobody knows if Tulowitzki can resume his career after two heel surgeries. As one AL executive said, “We’d have to see him work out. I haven’t heard of any plans like that so far but for teams to feel comfortable that he can play any infield position, we’d have to see how he moves.” With Didi Gregorius out, the Yankees will monitor the Tulowitzki situation. The A’s, perhaps out of the Lowrie bidding, will also consider it. Tulowitzki recently was released by the Blue Jays after missing all of 2018. The Jays ate the remaining $38 million of his contract.

Cardinals Discussed Paul Goldschmidt & Zack Greinke Internally

Still, it’s not out of the question a team might try to force the issue with the D-Backs, seeking to land both players at a minimal cost in prospects. Sources say the Cardinals have kicked around internally the idea of acquiring Goldschmidt and Greinke in the same deal, but the likelihood of such a trade occurring is remote, in part because St. Louis is one of the clubs on Greinke’s 15-team no-trade list.

Spending Big On Free Agents Doesn't Guarantee World Series Rings

We are three weeks away from the start of Major League Baseball’s Winter Meetings in Las Vegas, and Cardinal Nation is unanimous in the belief that they need to get a big, middle of the lineup bat, but split on which bat that should be.

Is Dexter Fowler Trade Even Possible?

So you may have heard that the Cardinals have had a little falling out with Dexter Fowler lately. Yeah, it's been ugly. You know it by now: His GM trashed his lack of hustle on local radio while he was on paternity leave, and that ended up making national headlines. And apparently, Fowler isn't on speaking terms with his manager. Why am I explaining this to you? Unless you've been living under a rock, you already know how tabloid-ugly this whole situation has been.
