2018 Dominican Summer League Cardinals Pitcher Of The Year: Julio Puello
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals rotations, for both
teams, started off on the rough side but gradually improved as the season
progressed. The clubs saw the return of
Jose Moreno, Francis Ventura, Enmanuel Solano, Wilfredo Pereira, Dionis Zamora,
and Allinson Benitez. Hector Soto pitched
out of the bullpen in 2017 and made the jump into opening for 2018. The remaining arms were all fresh faces.

pretty quickly after short-season clubs went into action. Moreno made the most starts and struck out

My choice for 2018 DSL Starting Pitcher of the Year goes to
Julio Puello as he led the openers in ERA, WHIP, and was just one strikeout
short of also leading in that category.
He also did not accumulate a loss during the season. Francis Ventura was a reliable arm and both
Hector Soto and Ludwin Jimenez put up some solid numbers for consideration.
