Underrated Jamie Moyer Came To Grips With Changeup
Jamie Moyer had an amazing, perhaps even unique, talent for being underrated. No matter how many times people called him underrated -- and that word was used countless times in his 7,000-season career -- he remained underrated. No matter how much credit you want to give him, he was probably still better than you remember.

Phillies' 1989 Trade For Sal Agostinelli Still Reaping Rewards
It was a transaction not worth mentioning in the newspapers at the time, a minor-league deal between the Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals that did not even create a blip on baseball’s radar screen. The Phillies got a 27-year-old catcher who barely had a triple-A resume. The Cardinals received a 24-year-old infielder who had been a fifth-round pick, but would never get higher than the triple-A level.

Another Cy Young Surprise? Three Aces No One Saw Coming
With the Boston Red Sox facing the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night (ESPN, 8 p.m. ET), the pitching matchup of Rick Porcello versus Mike Leake is particularly intriguing because Leake is perhaps this year’s Porcello. Last season, Porcello became a surprise Cy Young winner, entering the season with a career 4.32 ERA, but going 22-4 with a 3.15 ERA to edge out Justin Verlander in the voting. Leake, coming off a 4.69 ERA with the Cardinals in 2016, now leads the NL with a 1.94 ERA.
