Fabian Marquez has made 15 appearances (12 starts) posting a 3-9 record and 5.25 ERA. He's allowed 67 hits, 61 runs (43 earned), 75 walks, hit 12 batters, thrown 16 wild pitches, and struck 80 out over 73.2 innings. C.B. Viladecans are 13-21 and in seventh place.

Hungarian League:

Denes Simonyi has played in four games going 2-for-14 (.143) with one double, one RBI, five runs, two walks, four stolen bases, .556 OBP, and .214 SLG. Szentendre Sleepwalkers is 12-4 and in third place.

Godo Knights Bring Gary Burnham To Europe

Baseball.it called it “A Samurai for the Knights”. The Godo Knights have signed the American first baseman/outfielder Gary Burnham Jr. for the upcoming season in the Italian Baseball League. He is going to be the DH for Godo. The past two seasons the 35-year-old former minor leaguer played in Asia. He also was part of the Italian preliminary roster for the World Baseball Classic last year, but didn’t make the final cut.

2009 Foreign (To Japan) Player Rundown

By my count, there were 78 foreign players (including ikusei players) under contract to NPB teams in 2009. Some of them will be back for 2010, others will not. So far, I’ve counted 18 players that will remain with their teams for next year, 36 that are leaving, and 24 that we’re still waiting to hear on.

Gary Burnham (Chiba Lotte):
Former two-time Bridgeport Bluefish Gary Burnham is making a splash in the Eastern Hemisphere. Burnham, a Hartford native, is now in his first season of professional baseball at the major league level. The hard-hitting lefty is currently a member of the Chiba Lotte Marines of the Japan Pacific League. Chiba Lotte may sound familiar to Connecticut residents as they are managed by none other than Bobby Valentine, a former manager of the New York Mets.
