Second Thoughts: Mateo Gil Offers A Short Answer At Position Cardinals Have Covered For Years To Come

As the shift happened within their minor-league system and the Cardinals could spread talent to areas beyond a traditional strength — pitching development is the calling card — they filled in open crevices at the corners and added another layer of options for the outfield. The depth chart that once looked like a doughnut had more substance and greater density, becoming more of a boiled bagel.

Kramer Robertson Inspired By Mom, Baylor's Coach Kim Mulkey

Conner Capel Growing With The Cardinals

To reflect back on July 31, 2018, Cardinals fans will think of it as the day the team traded Tommy Pham to the Rays in a deal that is still hard to get behind more than a year later. On the same day, in a move that (in a sense, due to roster capacity) stemmed off the Pham trade, St. Louis sent Oscar Mercado to the Indians for prospects. One of those prospects is Conner Capel, and he has really settled in to his new organization.
