Shelby Miller Tames Lakeland, Fans 12

Cardinals prospect Shelby Miller is who he is, and no one is complaining -- except, perhaps, opposing hitters.
Shelby Miller struck out a regular-season career-high 12 batters and Kyle Conley matched a career-high with four hits, but the Lakeland Flying Tigers (25-24) rallied late to defeat the Palm Beach Cardinals (19-30) by a final of 3-2 Friday evening at Roger Dean Stadium.

Bloodied Joe Kelly Loses No-Hitter In Eighth

If Joe Kelly were superstitious, he'd have to get a teammate to punch him in the nose before his next start.
Joe Kelly took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and ended up with his second victory of the season as the Palm Beach Cardinals (18-28) defeated the Brevard County Manatees (15-31) by a final of 3-1 Tuesday night at Space Coast Stadium.

John Gast's Complete Game Snaps Palm Beach's Four-Game Skid

John Gast threw the first complete game of his career and Zack Cox and Edgar Lara combined for four RBI as the Palm Beach Cardinals (16-28) defeated the Brevard County Manatees (15-29) by a final of 5-1 Sunday evening at Space Coast Stadium. The victory snapped a season-high four-game losing streak for Palm Beach.

The Daytona Cubs (31-12) completed a four-game sweep of the Palm Beach Cardinals (15-28) with a 3-0 shutout victory Saturday night at Roger Dean Stadium. The Cardinals finish the eight-game homestand 2-6.

Matt Holliday Closer Than Lance Berkman To Rejoining Lineup; Fernando Salas Likely Choice In Save Situations; Brian Tallet Returns Friday...

The Cardinals held both Matt Holliday and Lance Berkman out of their starting lineup on Thursday against the Astros, though Holliday was considered available to pinch-hit. Both outfielders were removed from Wednesday night's game due to injuries.
Following their 4-2 victory Thursday against Houston, the Cardinals elected to bring lefty reliever Brian Tallet with them to Kansas City and will activate him before opening interleague play, making him the 13th pitcher on the staff.
Matt Holliday and Lance Berkman, the two leading hitters in the National League, were out of the St. Louis Cardinals' starting lineup Thursday afternoon for their series finale against the Houston Astros.

Seven-Run Inning Dooms Palm Beach In 8-6 Loss
