The Cardinals won again Sunday night, knocking off San Francisco 6-3 to take two of three from the Giants over the weekend. The wins weren’t notable stylistically for the Cardinals, they were run-of-the-mill, grind it out and protect-the-lead victories.

There’s a scene in the movie “Apollo 13” where Kevin Bacon portrays astronaut Jack Swigert placing a NO sign over a button on the command module control panel. Flipping that switch would have disengaged the lunar module, not a good move since it contained his two fellow astronauts as the crippled craft made its way back to Earth.

Esteban Yan Aiming For Spot In Triple-A Mexican League's Laguna Rotation
Laguna Cowboys face the Steelers on Monday to the North, the game will be played in Moroleón, Guanajuato, from 13:30. Among the players who could emerge as starters and found, Miguel Ojeda, Emmanuel Valdez, Santiago Gonzalez, Esteban Yan and Juan Manuel Mateo. The players who do not make the trip to Moroleón hold their usual training session at Camp Deportivo Miguel M. Love, Salamanca, Guanajuato.

Los Gigantes del Cibao on Saturday announced the hiring of veteran players Alberto Castillo, catcher and pitcher Esteban Yan and Roberto Novoa. The Giants general manager of the Cibao, Pablo Peguero, said that the signatures of those veterans will strengthen two very important areas for the team.
