The Johnson City Cardinals have announced that Tyler Parsons will take over the role of General Manager. He will be replacing Chuck Arnold who has moved on to pursue other career opportunities.

Alexander Reyes moved to the Dominican Republic from his Elizabeth, N.J., home late in 2011 to concentrate year-round on baseball, and it paid off this past December when St. Louis signed him to a free-agent contract for $950,000.

Tyrell Jenkins Tackles Pitching Career

Two-a-days in Waco or once every five days in Johnson City wasn’t a tough call for Tyrell Jenkins.

St. Louis made the 6-foot-4, 180-pounder from Henderson, Texas the 50th overall pick in Major League Baseball’s June draft. But Jenkins had also signed to play football and baseball at Baylor, and a contract with the Cardinals wasn’t ironed out until late last week. He signed for $1.3 million and arrived in Johnson City on Saturday.
