SCOUTING REPORT • Pirates third baseman David Freese returns as an opponent for the first time since he was traded to the Angels after the 2013 season. Freese has hit .287 with 21 homers in 235 games at Busch Stadium, not counting his memorable homer to win Game 6 of the 2011 World Series. He will be the second Lafayette High product to return here this week, with Philadelphia’s Ryan Howard just having departed.
