Bill DeWitt Hopes Canceled London Series Can Be Revived Another Year

Cardinals chairman Bill DeWitt Jr., said he had suspected for some time that the Cardinals’ scheduled series with the Chicago Cubs in London on June 13-14 was in jeopardy because of the world-wide coronavirus pandemic. On Wednesday, Major League Baseball made it official but DeWitt told the Post-Dispatch that the Cardinals would like to be involved again, if offered the chance.

The Cubs and Cardinals are bringing their longstanding Midwest matchup to the UK, and Goranson (who bleeds Cubbie blue) and her dad (a St. Louis supporter) would love to watch their teams battle among the Brits.

Matt Carpenter started at third base and batted leadoff.  1-for-2 with one double, one RBI, two walks, one sac fly, and one stolen base.

When Dominic Leone was sent down to Triple-A Memphis on May 17, he decided to use his time there to get back to basics. After allowing an 8.02 ERA in 20 appearances with St. Louis -- including two outings where he allowed six runs in two-thirds of an inning -- the right-hander watched video and reworked his mechanics to where he felt his timing was back.
