Prince Fielder's Stock Soars After All-Star Blast
The boos were one thing. Prince Fielder can handle boos. Same goes for the jeers about his weight, the cracks on his scraggly beard and any other nonsense fans hurl. This All-Star week turned ugly for Fielder on Tuesday when angry fans took out their rage on the Milwaukee Brewers star’s family.

Cardinals Trio Play For Team At All-Star Game
It was short and sweet for Cardinals outfielders Lance Berkman and Matt Holliday, who both played three innings and got just one at-bat in Tuesday night's Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
All-Star Action Brief, But Cardinals Savor Victory
It was a short night for Lance Berkman and Matt Holliday, but much better to have one at-bat in a win than three in a loss.
Bud Selig Had Hoped To See Albert Pujols As All-Star Also; No Realignment Now; Scott Rolen Not Embarrassed Matt Holliday Praises Yadier Molina
Add baseball commissioner Bud Selig to the list of folks who wanted to see Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols somewhere on the National League All-Star team.

Chris Perez Values All-Star Game Experience
Another of his friends and fellow Indians, reliever Chris Perez, was sitting in front of the adjacent locker shortly before the cork popped on the 82nd All-Star Game in Chase Field.
Both experienced satisfying but uneventful games.

Tucson Shooting Victims Honored At All-Star Game
Major League Baseball had a special connection to the Tucson shooting that killed six people and wounded U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords this year, a fact that made its pregame ceremonies at the All-Star game Tuesday all the more moving.

Immigration Law Protesters To Be At All-Star Game
Critics of a polarizing immigration law in Arizona protested the legislation Tuesday in triple-digit heat outside Major League Baseball's All-Star Game in downtown Phoenix, drawing sideways glances from fans who were more interested in getting to the game.
Bernie Bytes 7-12-11: Albert Pujols Should Be In Arizona
Of course Albert Pujols should be playing in the 82nd annual All-Star Game. Despite the bumpy ride in the first half Pujols is still one of the best players in baseball. And the purpose is to win, right? At least that's what commissioner Bud Selig and the good folks at Fox Sports tell us.
2011 Futures Game PitchF/X
Ah, the joys of the Futures Game and PITCHf/x. When All-Star week arrives, the kids gather in the host park and play a game. With a handful of exceptions, it's like a sudden wave of sneak previews—a quick look at a guy you haven't seen before and may not see again for a couple years, if ever.
The Missing All-Star: Albert Pujols
Tonight's version of the All-Star Game will be No. 82, but that doesn't mean all the players will be stars. Rosters have been expanded several times in recent seasons but this year it reached the point where, because of injuries, bailouts and silly rules, some 83 players have been designated as All-Stars at one instant or another.
Chris Perez Still Keeping Tabs On Cardinals Bullpen; Yadier Molina Throws To Matt Holliday; No DH For Lance Berkman
If it's not the heat or humidity, the main topic of conversation on any summer day in St. Louis is the makeup and utilization of the Cardinals' erratic bullpen. In Cleveland, there is at least one other person interested in the issue.

Matt Holliday Knocked Out Of Derby After Tiebreaker
Matt Holliday gave it a good show, but came up short against the two captains in Monday night's State Farm Home Run Derby. Holliday made it to a three-way "swing-off" tiebreaker before being knocked out of the competition by National League captain Prince Fielder and American League captain David Ortiz.
Matt Holliday was eliminated from the All-Star HR Derby tonight in a 3-player swing-off for the final two spots in the second round.

Chris Perez Deal Pays Off With All-Star Trip
They arrived to the Cleveland Indians' organization in what were, at the time, fairly low-profile trades.
But on Monday, shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera and closer Chris Perez sat beside each other, in a room filled with some of the Majors' top talent, ready to represent the Indians on the All-Star stage.

More Than All-Stars, Trio Has Anchored Cardinals
It's a fairly long flight from St. Louis to the Valley of the Sun; three hours or more headed westbound, against the jet stream. But for Lance Berkman, Matt Holliday and Yadier Molina, the trip was a lot shorter than it might have been.
