Week In Review:

July 22, 2019: The Cardinals Red opened the week hosting the Brewers.  The Brewers opened the flood gates of offense on the Redbirds and collected 21 hits and scored 19 runs.  The Cardinals did their own damage but not enough and fell ten runs short.  Luis Andujar had two singles, two walks, and drove in a career-high five runs.

July 22, 2019: The Cardinals Blue opened the week on the road against the Twins.  The Redbirds took an early lead but the Twins came firing back to tie it up in the sixth and then slapped on five runs in the seventh.  Ronald Suarez struck out two of three batters in the final inning for the Cardinals.  Jose Zapata singled, doubled, and drove in three runs.

July 23, 2019: The Cardinals Red went on the road in the second-game of the series against the Brewers.  The Brewers offense didn't slow by much and continued the hit parade as they scored one run in each of the first three frames and plated five in the fifth.  The Redbirds did their best to get back in the game as they scored six in the eighth but came up one run short in the loss.  Fernando Brazoban singled, walked, homered, and knocked in three runs and Luis Andujar added four singled and two RBIs.

July 23, 2019: The Cardinals Blue stayed on the road to face the Rockies.  Gustavo J. Rodriguez opened for the Redbirds and pitched four scoreless frames.  William Miranda and Dionys Rodriguez hurled a combined five scoreless frames to complete the shutout.  The Cardinals offense lead by Leudy Pena, who had a single, homer, and four RBIs, scored double digits in three separate innings.

July 24, 2019: The Cardinals Red, looking to end their losing streak, visited the Tigers One in the first game of a doubleheader.  Yonael Dominguez opened for the Redbirds and only allowed one run in the first four innings.  The Tigers took advantage of the bullpen and plated four runs in the final two frames and held of the Cardinals.  Smith Vargas, Claudio Ramirez, and Erick Thomas each contributed a RBI.

July 24, 2019: The Cardinals Red continued as the visitor in the second game against the Tigers One.  The Tigers attacked early with five runs in the first, then two in the third, and two more in separate innings to follow.  The Redbirds attempted a comeback with six in the last four frames but was not good enough.  Miguel Marcos hit a two-run homer and Luis Andujar tripled and knocked in two runs.

July 24, 2019:  The Cardinals Blue welcomed in the Orioles Two for their next contest.  Both teams stayed even the entire game and saw it push into extras where the Orioles committed errors and dropped it to the Redbirds.  Elvin DeJesus walked, homered, and knocked in a career-high four runs.

July 25, 2019:  The Cardinals Red, riding a five-game losing streak, hosted the Tigers One for the final of the series.  Angel Cuenca struck out five and allowed one run over the first seven frames, a career-high.  Ramon Fernandez followed by giving up only one run over three innings.  However the Redbirds offense was sluggish with four hits and one run as they fell to the Tigers for a third straight game.

July 26, 2019: The Cardinals Blue, after a day off, defended home field against the Angels.  The Redbirds scored nine runs over the first five frames of the contest and held the Angels scoreless until the fifth in the victory.  Eduar Pimentel started and pitched three scoreless innings.  Elvin DeJesus and Leudy Pena each drove in two runs.

July 26, 2019: The Cardinals Red visited the Diamondbacks Two for a new two-game series.  The Redbirds opened with five runs in the first, but quickly the tide changed as the D-Backs marched back and held on for the win.  Luis Andujar singled twice and pushed two runs across home plate.

July 27, 2019:  The Cardinals Red wrapped up the week hosting the Diamondbacks Two.  The Redbirds plated a run first but the D-Backs exploded mid-game for seven runs in the sixth and held on to extend their losing streak to eight games.  Luis Garcia pitched a scoreless inning in the eighth.  Luis Andujar collected three singles, one double, and drove in one run while Miguel Marcos doubled in two runs.

July 27, 2019: The Cardinals Blue finished off the week with a home game against the Yankees.  The Redbirds socred a run in the first, second, and two in the third and then padded the win with two more in the seventh.  William Miranda pitched two scoreless innings of relief and struck three out.  Leudy Pena hit a three-run homer to lead the offense and help extend the Cardinals winning streak to four games.
