Who's Hot:

Yowelfy Rosario has hit safely in eight consecutive contests and legged out his first career triple.  The 17-year old right-handed hitter went 4-for-9 (.444) with one triple, three RBIs, one run, and two strikeouts.  He played two games at third base.

Alexander Samuel picked up his second career three-hit and first three-RBI game.  The 17-year old right-handed hitter went 4-for-11 (.364) with four RBIs, one run, one walk, one hit by pitch, and one strikeout.  He played three games in left field and had one outfield assist.

Freddy DeJesus will look to extend his 14-game on base streak in the next week.  The 17-year old right-handed hitter went 5-for-14 (.357) with two doubles, two RBIs (one w/two-outs), two runs, three walks, and one strikeout.  He played four games at first base and assisted in on two double plays and committed two throwing errors.  The September 6, 2016 free agent signing leads the team in home runs.

Raffy Ozuna has a ten-game on base streak to work on.  The 18-year old right-handed hitter went 3-for-14 (.214) with two doubles, three RBIs, two runs, three walks, and six strikeouts.  He played three games at shortstop (assisted in one double play and three fielding errors) and one as designated hitter.  The July 2, 2016 free agent signing leads the team in runs scored, RBIs, total bases, walks, strikeouts, and errors.

Wilfredo Pereira had his second consecutive appearance without an earned run.  The 18-year old right-hander started on August 16th and tossed four scoreless innings allowing three hits, three walks, and struck four out.  He had a ground out-to-fly out ratio of 3-to-3.  The March 19, 2016 free agent signing has not given up an earned run in three games this season and has not allowed more than three runs yet.

Who's Not:

Joyser Garcia will look to end his hitless streak, that stands at three games currently.  The 17-year old right-handed hitter went 0-for-8 (.000) with three strikeouts and grounded into one double play.  He played two games behind the plate and threw out two of five base runners.  The July 2, 2016 free agent signing has gone 12 at-bats without a hit and had only four in his last 28.

Jose Moreno had his shortest out of the season.  The 17-year old right-hander started on August 14th and went only one inning allowing three hits, two earned runs, one home run, and hit one batter.  He had a ground out-to-fly out ratio of 1-to-1.  The February 3, 2017 free agent signing had his shortest outing, before this, on June 8th going just two and two-thirds innings.

Roy Garcia has struggled recently in giving up two or more runs in three of his last four appearances.  The 16-year old right-hander was called from the bullpen on August 16th and gave up two hits, four earned runs, two walks, hit one batter, and threw one wild pitch over one inning for the losing decision (1-4).  On August 19th, he coughed up five hits, five runs (four earned), and struck two out over one inning.  His ground out-to-fly out ratio was 3-to-0.  In total, the September 6, 2016 free agent signing has pitched five innings over his last four games and allowed nine hits, 11 runs (ten earned), three walks, hit two batters, and struck four out.

Hector Soto had one of his worst relief appearances of the season this past week.  The 18-year old right-hander pitched on August 14th and allowed three hits, four runs (three earned), one walk, threw one wild pitch, and struck three out.  He had a ground out-to-fly out ratio of 2-to-2.  This recent game snapped the November 8, 2016 free agent signings scoreless streak of five games, spanning seven and two-thirds innings.

Rodard Avelino has been hard in his last three of four appearances.  The 18-year old right-hander had a decent game on August 14th when he went two innings and gave up no hits, one unearned run, two walks, and struck three out.  But on August 19th, he pitched to seven batters and allowed three hits, four earned runs, one walk, hit one batter, and threw one wild pitch.  His ground out-to-fly out ratio was 3-to-2 and let his only inherited runner score.  Over his last four relief appearances, the July 2, 2016 free agent signing has pitched four and a third innings and given up eight hits, nine runs (eight earned), five walks, hit two batters, and struck five out.
