On Tuesday, it was a camp day as the St. Louis Cardinals’ Memphis and Springfield clubs were scheduled to face off while the Palm Beach and Quad Cities 1 clubs worked out but did not play.

The original idea was to get the minor leaguers in and out early Tuesday, buying them at least a half day off in between their ongoing series of games against the New York Mets’ and Florida’s minor-league teams. Instead, rain one day inspired extra innings the next.
