The St. Louis Cardinals selected left-handed pitcher Ben Jukich from the Cincinnati Reds organization with the 24th pick of the Major League portion of 2009 Rule 5 Draft. Jukich was 9-6 with a 4.10 ERA in 17 starts for the Reds AAA Louisville club in 2009. The 6-foot-4, 190- pound pitcher appeared in 29 games, threw 123 innings and struck out 106 batters. His minor league career began in 2003, amassing a record of 34-19 with a 3.83 ERA in 469 innings.
