Manager Tony La Russa said Wednesday that the Cardinals will skip Kyle Lohse this weekend and send John Smoltz, Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright to the mound against the Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium.

Cardinals righthander Kyle Lohse, who experienced some forearm inflammation after his start Saturday, will have his turn skipped for the Chicago Cubs’ series this weekend and veteran righthander John Smoltz, who missed a start with shoulder tendinitis, will open that series Friday at Busch Stadium.
