Right-hander Todd Wellemeyer will rejoin the Cardinals on Thursday and probably be activated for their series opener in Pittsburgh on Friday night.

Cardinals righthander Todd Wellemeyer, who is on the 15-day disabled list because of elbow inflammation, had his second rehabilitation outing this afternoon for Class AAA Memphis and it went much better than the first.
