Mike Timlin (Retired):
One day after the bullpen sprung a leak, free agent Mike Timlin worked out again at Coors Field. And will throw another bullpen session Friday, at which point the Rockies will decide whether to offer a minor-league contract.l He remains hopeful that a deal can be reached with the Rockies.
“Sometimes the time off helps,’’ said Timlin, who stayed in shape by playing catch with former teammate Mike Myers and throwing batting practice for his son’s youth team. “God has given me the strength to do this. I believe I can still pitch at this level.’’
General manager Dan O’Dowd reached out to Timlin, who lives in the area. If a deal transpires, it would involve the 43-year-old reporting to the minor leagues to get sharp, not unlike the process going on with Matt Herges.
