John Mozeliak On Backup Catcher, Bullpen, Albert Pujols
St. Louis Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said a deal for a backup catcher faltered at midnight Tuesday and that now he's unsure if the team will make its final move before leaving the Winter Meetings on Thursday.

GM Hopes To Fulfill Wish List By End Of Meetings
The Cardinals took care of one piece of housekeeping on Tuesday, while general manager John Mozeliak made it clear that he hopes to have two somewhat larger matters resolved before the club packs up and heads north on Thursday afternoon.
Mets Sign Ronny Paulino To One-Year Deal
The team has also agreed to a one-year deal for backup catcher Ronny Paulino, according to the same source, though both players must pass physicals before the deals can be completed.
