A recent uptick by the Cardinals’ leadoff men, mostly named Dexter Fowler, has taken the club out of the basement for batting average and on-base percentage for major league teams. For much of the season, the Cardinals’ leadoff men were hitting .200, or even below, but they began Friday’s game at .220.

Welcome To The Cardinals Hall Of Fame Jason Isringhausen, Scott Rolen, & Mort Cooper

Third baseman Scott Rolen and reliever Jason Isringhausen, both prominent members of the Cardinals’ World Series championship team of 2006, have been chosen for induction into the Cardinals’ Hall of Fame on Aug. 24, along with righthander Mort Cooper, who starred for World Series championship clubs in 1942 and 1944. The announcement was made Friday night by the Cardinals on Fox Sports Midwest.

A Gold Glove third baseman, the team’s all-time saves leader and its pitching ace of the 1940s are the newest members of the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame.

In a television special on FOX Sports Midwest this evening, the St. Louis Cardinals announced that Scott Rolen, Jason Isringhausen and Mort Cooper will be inducted into the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame presented by Edward Jones on Saturday, August 24, at FOX Sports Midwest Live! in Ballpark Village. This is the sixth induction class since the team dedicated the Cardinals Hall of Fame with an Inaugural Class on Opening Day in 2014. The 2019 Induction Class was selected via a formal voting process, with input from fans and St. Louis baseball experts.
