Each time through the past two months that the Nationals have had a "statement win" in which they seem to be clicking on all cylinders and ready to take a step forward and show off their true potential, they have quickly followed with a step back. One of the reasons they haven't been able to build any momentum from these comeback wins, blowout victories or strong pitching performances has been because of a starting pitching staff that entered Wednesday with an MLB-worst 5.37 ERA since the beginning of June.

Todd Frazier To DL Amid Flurry Or Roster Moves For Mets

The Mets announced on Monday that Todd Frazier will be placed on the 10-day disabled list with a left rib cage muscle strain. The injury occurred in Frazier's first at-bat during Sunday's game against the Rays, and it progressively felt worse throughout the day. The third baseman received a cortisone injection and is optimistic that with the All-Star break coming up, he will be able return quickly.

Mets Allowing Jose Reyes To Work Through Slide

Although Jose Reyes endured a poor start to last season, by mid-May he was already making up for it, well on his way to a productive campaign. This year, that rebound has not occurred. Reyes is in an 0-for-8 slide and is 2-for-22 in May. Combined with his 0-for-20 skid to open the season, Reyes is batting just .132 with a .367 OPS.

Ender Inciarte's Walk-Off Bunt Caps Braves' Late Rally

A night after they were shut down by Mets closer Jeurys Familia, the Braves got their revenge on him Saturday night at SunTrust Park, walking off with a 4-3 win on Ender Inciarte's perfectly placed bunt single. It marked Atlanta's second walk-off win of the season.

Adam Eaton Day To Day After Tweaking Left Ankle

After a sprint from first base to the plate, Nationals left fielder Adam Eaton slid awkwardly into home plate in the third inning of Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Mets. He slid in safely to score his second run of the game, but he also tweaked his left ankle during the play and was eventually removed from the game in the sixth inning.
