Searching for something to jump-start his underachieving, erratic offense, Cardinals manager Mike Shildt changed his top three hitters Wednesday. For one move, switch-hitting rookie Tommy Edman got the start at third base in place of Matt Carpenter, and also led off in place of Carpenter.
