Cardinals Homestand Highlights April 19-28, 2019

Back from their recent five-game road trip, the Cardinals return to Busch for their longest homestand of the season. The nine-game homestand opens with three games against the New York Mets (April 19-21), followed by three games versus the Milwaukee Brewers (April 22-24) and concludes with a three-game series with the Cincinnati Reds (April 26-28). The second homestand of the year is highlighted by Easter and Earth Day theme events and ten promotional giveaways.

Cardinals Beat Dodgers 7-2: Yadier Molina Homers & Drives In Three Runs; Jack Flaherty Strikes Out Eight & Allows One Run Over Six Innings For The Win; Marcell Ozuna Singles, Doubles, & Hits A Two-Run Homer

Individual Highlights:
Paul DeJong started at shortstop and batted third.  3-for-4 with one triple, one RBI, three runs, one strikeout, and assisted in one double play.
Marcell Ozuna started in left field and batted fourth.  3-for-4 with one double, one home run, two RBIs, two runs, one stolen base, and one strikeout.
Yadier Molina started at catcher and batted fifth.  1-for-4 with one home run, three RBIs, and one run.
Dexter Fowler started in right field and batted sixth.  1-for-4 with one two-out RBI and two strikeouts.
Jack Flaherty started and pitched six innings.  He allowed three hits, one earned run, one home run, hit one batter, and struck eight out for the winning decision (1-0).  0-for-1 with one sacrifice.  (p-s:99-69)(g/f:2-3)
John Brebbia entered in the eighth and pitched one inning.  He allowed no hits or runs, and one walk for the hold (2).  (p-s:12-7)(g/f:0-3)
Dominic Leone entered in the ninth and pitched one inning.  He allowed one hit, no runs, and struck one out.  (p-s:17-12)(g/f:0-1)

Rough Outing:
Kolten Wong started at second base and batted seventh.  0-for-4 with one strikeout.
Harrison Bader started in centerfield and batted eighth.  0-for-2 with one walk.
Tyler Webb entered in the seventh and pitched to two batters.  He allowed one hit, one earned run, and one home run.  (p-s:11-5)(g/f:1-0)

Cardinals Homestand Highlights: April 4-11, 2019

The Cardinals open the 2019 home slate with a three games against the San Diego Padres (April 4, 6-7) and a four-game series with the defending National League Champion Los Angeles Dodgers (April 8-11). The first homestand of the year is highlighted by Opening Day festivities featuring all 16 living members of the Cardinals Hall of Fame, three promotional gate giveaways and Law Enforcement & Firefighters Appreciation Nights.
