The wins and losses don’t count for another couple of weeks, but exhibition games can reflect a style of play. And manager Mike Shildt likes his club’s style.

Kolten Wong left Sunday’s game with a left calf contusion after being hit by a Pablo López fastball leading off the first inning. He walked out of the clubhouse after the game with a bandage around his calf, but Cardinals manager Mike Shildt said that Wong should recover well. Wong wasn’t going to travel Monday to Fort Myers, Fla., to face the Twins anyway. He will be evaluated Monday before determining his return to the lineup.

Edmundo Sosa entered late in the game at third base and moved to shortstop, batting leadoff.  1-for-4 with one double, one run, and assisted in one double play.
Paul Goldschmidt started at first base and batted third.  1-for-2 with one double, two RBIs, one run, and one walk.
Paul DeJong started at shortstop and batted fourth.  1-for-2 with one walk.
Yadier Molina started at catcher and batted fifth.  1-for-2 with two RBIs and one sac fly.
Dennis Ortega entered late in the game at catcher and batted fifth.  1-for-1 at the plate.
Tyler O'Neill started as designated hitter and batted seventh.  1-for-3 with one two-out RBI, one hit by pitch, and two strikeouts.
Harrison Bader started in centerfield and batted eighth.  1-for-2 with two two-out RBIs, two walks, and one strikeout.
