Terry Francona Has Good, & Not So Good, Memories Of St. Louis

The Cleveland Indians and manager Terry Francona departed Busch Stadium late Wednesday night at the conclusion of their interleague series with the Cardinals, with the Indians not likely to return for six more years, according to the scheduling format.

Matt Holliday Extends Streak With Two Homers

It didn’t take long tonight for new Cardinals left fielder Matt Holliday to extend his hitting streak. Holliday, who entered the game against the Houston Astros at Busch Stadium riding an eight-game streak, homered to right field as the leadoff man in the second inning. And then he hit another homer in the eighth as the Cardinals moved ahead of the Astros, 3-1.

Matt Holliday, Julio Lugo Fast Starters For Cardinals

On Friday night in Philadelphia, the newest St. Louis Cardinal, outfielder Matt Holliday, celebrated his trade from Oakland with a four-hit game. That tied his career high. It was Holliday’s 15th career four-hit game and third of this season. The first two were on May 19 at Detroit and this Monday, July 20 at Minnesota.
