The last time Chris Speier had to manage in Dusty Baker’s place was 2012, when both were with the Reds and Baker had to be hospitalized with what was eventually diagnosed as a “mini-stroke.” Four years and an organization later, Speier is filling in again. Baker had a death in the family and is not with the team Wednesday.
