Brandon Moss and Stephen Piscotty found themselves making their first impressions simultaneously last season, with Moss a Trade Deadline arrival to St. Louis and Piscotty a late-July callup. The latter exceeded expectations, while the former didn't live up to them.

Brandon Moss, a season removed from the endless frustration of 2015, already felt different in Jupiter this spring. He was fully healthy, and said he no longer had nagging questions when a ball didn’t travel as far as normal.

Following the St. Louis Cardinals walk-off victory on Wednesday night, Stephen Piscotty stated he felt it was something the team could build from. Less than 24 hours later, he delivered a 2-out double to drive in a pair of runs in the 7th inning to solidify the eventual 4-0 win over Philadelphia.
