Tony LaRussa Addresses Possible Playoff Change; Blake Hawksworth Lucky To Escape Serious Injury; P.J. Walters Wants To Prove His Worth To Cardinals;..

Commissioner Bud Selig paid a visit to Wrigley Field for Friday's game between the Cubs and Cardinals, and during an in-game news conference, he surprised many by suggesting that baseball will seriously explore changing the current playoff format to include more teams. Reliever Blake Hawksworth was discharged from Northwestern Memorial Hospital Sunday morning and returned to the Cardinals clubhouse about 90 minutes before first pitch. Hawksworth dressed for today's game but had little to say beforehand due to swelling and approximately 30 stitches needed to close wounds in his mouth and upper lip sustained when struck by a fifth-inning line drive Saturday.
