Blake Hawksworth, Tyler Greene Struggles; Concern Over Setup Reliever

* There will always be a few guys struggling in spring training, but in the Cardinals’ case, I’m surprised by RHP Blake Hawskworth and infielder Tyler Greene. I thought Greene had an excellent chance of beating out Julio Lugo for a backup job, and I assumed Hawksworth had a spot in the bullpen. But it hasn’t happened. Not yet, anyway. Those of you over at Bernie’s Press Box who told me I was nuts for saying Greene would beat out Lugo — up to this point you own me on this one.

* In a related note … is anyone else nervous about the Cardinals’ righthanded setup relief? Of course you are. Still makes us all wonder if Kyle McClellan — who is pitching well and earning that 5th spot in the rotation — will be restored to a bullpen role out of necessity. With Rich Hill or Jaimie Garcia moving into the rotation.
