After spending 14 games on the disabled list with a strained right hamstring, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Ryan Ludwick returned to the lineup in San Francisco and batted fourth behind first baseman Albert Pujols. Facing two lefthanded starters in the three games, Ludwick was only one for 11 overall with a sacrifice fly but Pujols, having his main protector back, was seven for 11 with two homers.
