The Dodgers are uneasy about the ability of their bullpen to the point where Jeff Weaver -- currently throwing at triple-A Albuquerque -- is on their radar, Dodgers Manager Joe Torre said.
"He's been coming up in conversation," Torre said of Weaver, 32, who is scheduled to start for Albuquerque on Saturday. If Weaver did join the big-league club, the right-hander could be used for relief or "if we need somebody to fill in for a starter," Torre said.

Adam Kennedy (Rays):
Adam Kennedy is hitting an inordinate amount of line drives. 44% of his balls in play have been of the line drive variety. Having been cut by the Cardinals and not making the Rays out of spring training, Kennedy is apparently trying to show someone he can hit. After walking in just 6.4% of his plate appearances for St. Louis, Kennedy so far has a walk rate of 18%. He's even slugging, with 3 homers and a double. Kennedy hit a whopping 2 homers all season last year in St. Louis.

The latest additions are Mississaugan Branson Joseph, an outfielder who plays college baseball with Canisius, first baseman/relief pitcher Derek Gordon of Brampton and shortstop Jeff McCowan, who has nine years of minor professional experience.
“He (McCowan) was going to retire,” said Calcagni of McCowan, who was once the property of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Florida Marlins and played in the Northern Baseball League. “He gives us some veteran experience who’ll be able to help the young guys on our team.”
