The St. Louis Cardinals announced today they have agreed to terms on a minor league contract with right-handed pitcher Mitch Harris, their 13th round selection (395th overall) in last year's First Year Player Draft. Harris was drafted out of the United States Naval Academy and was commissioned as an ensign in the Navy last May.

Mitch Harris: Cardinals Go Navy!

Per DG, the Cardinals signed Mitch Harris. He will report after duty, which in the Navy equals five years. Meaning, he will be 28 when he starts his professional career, and I have no earthly idea how he will keep of the rust.
