On March 13th starting pitcher Kyle Lohse signed a one-year, $4.25 million deal with the Cardinals – a move St. Louis probably made out of desperation with Chris Carpenter, Mark Mulder and Matt Clement nursing assorted injuries. Not a bad payday for a guy who went 9-12 with a 4.62 ERA for the Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies last season, right?
