One Guy You Forgot Was Ever On Your Favorite Team

You remember them, just not some of the teams they played for. There are numerous players throughout baseball history who we remember for their prime years, and we usually associate them with one specific team. But in many cases, those stars finished their careers or spent some other part of their time in the Majors with another club, one that we may have forgotten. So here's a look at some players who fall into that category for each club.

Tommy Kahnle Reveals He's Never Heard Of Tommy Edman During MLB The Show Tournament

Clearly, the Yankees weren't taking the Cardinals that seriously as a potential World Series opponent in 2019. Both Championship Series losers had a solid shot of meeting up in the Fall Classic, but ultimately avoided the collision course, and Yanks relief ace Tommy Kahnle similarly averted an awkward moment. If he had reached October's summit, he might've been called on to use his devastating changeup on Tommy Edman, someone he'd never even heard of until this weekend.

Michael Wacha's Future

Yesterday the Cardinals won their fifth straight game. They came against the Pirates and Royals, so they should have handled those teams and they did. Both teams have a combined -190 run differential after all (which sadly is better than the Tigers and Orioles who are at a combined -475 and yes you read that right). But here’s the thing: just because you should beat those teams doesn’t mean it will happen. Both teams do have a greater than 0% winning percentage after all.

Jose Quintana Records Historic, Career-High 14 K's

It was clear after one inning on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park that José Quintana's pitch count would likely become an issue for the left-hander. Equally as obvious, however, was the fact that Quintana had his best stuff working.

The Cardinals Breakup: Albert Pujols, The Cardinals, & The Endless Debate

Did the St. Louis Cardinals make a good enough offer to Albert Pujols, or was the superstar slugger wronged by a franchise he helped win a pair of World Series titles?

A Quick Albert Pujols Story

I was on my way to San Diego to cover the St. Louis Cardinals' playoff workout before Game 3 of the 2005 NLDS, but my flight was delayed. This was not good, especially since I needed a featured interview to run during my special from the booth that night.

How Cubs Will Make Their Sales Pitch To Shohei Otani & Attack This Offseason

The video of what it would look like when the Cubs finally won the World Series resonated with Jon Lester, because he grew up around the Boston Red Sox, understood the players on that 2004 team got treated like kings and felt enough sense of history to choose No. 34 as a tribute to Kerry Wood, Walter Payton and Nolan Ryan.

In the minutes after the sad news reverberated on Wednesday that St. Louis phenom Alex Reyes would have to undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the year, there was a wave of forced optimism.

Max Scherzer's 20-Strikeout Gem One For The Ages

It was not until after the eighth inning on what would become a history-making Wednesday night at Nationals Park that Max Scherzer glanced at the scoreboard and realized what he was in the midst of. Once he saw his strikeout total, then 18, he began to think about the history in his grasp for the ninth inning.

Max Scherzer Celebrates His NL Cy Young Award Win With A Champagne Shower

Max Scherzer, 2013 AL Cy Young Award winner, was up for the 2016 NL version on Wednesday night. Would he win in a different league? Would he beat out the Cubs' two-headed monster of Jon Lester and Kyle Hendricks? Could he become the 18th multiple Cy Young winner in baseball history? Yes, he could:

Max Scherzer Aims To Be Sixth To Win Cy Young In AL, NL

Often after Nationals manager Dusty Baker finished campaigning for Max Scherzer, he would joke that his reasons were selfish. Although he had managed a number of award winners through his career, Baker has never had a pitcher win the Cy Young Award. But the praise for Scherzer was usually well-deserved after a dominant 2016 has provided him a strong case to win it.

Jason Heyward Reflects On Time At Turner Field

Sunday's 13-2 win marked the Cubs' last game at Turner Field as the Braves move to a new facility next year. One of the highlights came in 2003 when the Cubs clinched the National League Division Series with a victory over the Braves in Game 5. Kerry Wood won both Game 1 and Game 5 of the NLDS at Turner Field.
