The St. Louis Cardinals announced today they have recalled RHP Ryan Helsley from Memphis (AAA) and optioned INF Edmundo Sosa to Memphis (AAA) following Friday night’s game in Cincinnati.

Hoping to provide relief to a heavily worked bullpen, the Cardinals recalled right-handed reliever Ryan Helsley from Triple-A Memphis on Saturday afternoon. Infielder Edmundo Sosa was optioned to the Redbirds.
