Yes, the home run is sure fun. And the St. Louis Cardinals employ the league-leader in homers — and as a team, they’ve bazooka’d 200-plus balls over walls. But a dangerous element to the Mike Shildt Cardinals — seen Sunday and much of this pivotal month — is their unpredictable creativity on offense. Sometimes it comes from a call from the dugout. Other times this season, it’s a player recognizing an opportunity to shake things up.
