The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to tonight's series opener with Colorado that they have activated right-handed pitcher Carlos Martínez (right oblique strain) from the 10-day disabled list and added newly-acquired left-handed reliever Chasen Shreve to the team's 25-man active roster.

Bothered once again by a right shoulder impingement, veteran reliever Luke Gregerson returned to the disabled list on Monday. The move subsequently opened up a roster spot for lefty Chasen Shreve, who arrived in town after being acquired in a trade with the Yankees late Saturday.
