Through the first seven weeks of the season, there is little question that Jedd Gyorko, the Cardinals’ leader last season with 30 homers, 23 after the All-Star break, has been their best player. With one-fourth of the season gone, the utility infielder who has turned into a regular third baseman is on pace for that same home run total with eight so far this year.
